Texags should incorporate a symbol for veterans. Would be neat to see the fellow veterans postings and such. I guess we could prove our status by school records or dd 214.

Agree. One option may be through the AFS, as they do have a Corps of Cadets icon. I contacted them to see if the would accommodate service recognition (i.e. USMC Eagle Globe and Anchor). Got a nice response that they're looking into it.
If AFS decides to enable it, it should be simple to link it to TexAgs, similar to how TexAgs already links with AFS for the ring icon.

In the off chance that staff decides to create such a tag, I disagree with linking it automatically through AFS. There would need to be a checkbox at the very least. There are many veterans who take great pride in their prior service, but there are also some who don't like the attention and would prefer not to be treated any differently than a regular civilian, especially on an internet forum where controversial opinions may be shared.

I should have qualified that it should be something that those who choose to do it opt-in to do so, and that any TexAgs starts, emblems, etc, should not be an "automatic" link with AFS. I mean, I wouldn't wan't any TexAgs Veterans to receieve unsolicited online offers for free Golden Corral meals (even if it's not Veterans Day), or deference on any world-changing internet argument, just because they weren't like regular people and had a military "I love Me" icon on their TexAgs username.
