Yesterday, I watched the documentary Korengal on the plane from Sydney to Los Angeles (United Airlines).

I haven't seen the movie Restrepo (on my list of things to do) but I understand this movie profiles the same Infrantry Company as Restrepo. In fact, I guess it's sort of a follow-up.

It's a fairly raw look at the soldiers and their missions. A lot of the interviews appear to be done after guys have gotten out of the Army or at least returned stateside. It's interesting how many of them say they would love to go back - not for the mission or to help the Afghanis but, to be with their brothers.

If you're looking for a current military movie, it's worth a look.

There's one part in the movie where one of the guys is talking about how everybody has their favorite weapon and that he's a .50 cal guy. Me too. Definitely my favorite.

Just saw this again on National Geographic Channel. Much better in full screen.

Must see.

I'm proud of our soldiers but I'm not happy about the situations we put them in.

Had seen Korengal, Restrepo, and Armadillo and just watched Hornet's Nest. I still think Restrepo is the best of the bunch but it was still a great documentary. Are there any others on this level?
