Howdy current and former A-2 Cadets!
Wow! what a finish to that game against the hogs over at Jerryworld! I guess the team finally got that pig off of their back having lost both of their prior games to those guys at "the football palace in Dallas".
While we still do not have a time for kick-off for the home game against Missouri, we are still making plans for the all outfit gathering on Saturday, November 15th.
Please note that we'll be working to secure the same spot for the canopy, at the SE corner of the parking garage just West of the Corps Center. Please take a look at the older posts on our website (see address link below)... and you'll see previous maps of the same location, and you'll see pictures of the blue and white canopy that the outfit puts up, as well as their flags and banners...
The outfit will furnish the grub and fixins, and former cadets just need to bring a chair to sit in, drinks, and a $15 donation (per attendee) to cover the cost of the tailgate and raise a little money for the current cadets as well. The BBQ commander will have one of his boots out there to drop in your contribution. Get ready to start RSVPing to the BBQ commander. We'll give out that contact in our next message.
If it is an evening game, the outfit will host a lunch, and if its afternoon, the meal will be served after the game... allowing for necessary time to grill the burgers and dogs. This is an informal event for comrade and reconnecting... family friendly as always. We'll have a roll-call to see what classes are in attendance, and we'll do the all A-2 hump-it if history repeats itself.
Oh yes... don't forget its also the rally to the Guidon weekend...stay tuned for more details on that.
I wanted to say howdy to the class of '72 that reached out to the association, it's great to make contact with 14 A-2/A-Batt cadets. I also wanted to say howdy to the class of '94 that also reached out to us! Many thanks to Lee Lance '72 and John Fleming '94.
Here are a few tidbits on where we stand with the A2CA. To date we have been contacted by 37 of the 48 classes of former and current cadets... 11 more to go. Send any info you can to us and we'll add them to the communication chain.
