This past Sunday, while I was attending the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, I had the honor of being introduced to SFC Leroy Petry. SFC Leroy Petry earned his Medal of Honor on 26May'08 in Paktya Province, Afghanistan. You can read his MOH citation here

SFC Petry was really personable, friendly, and easy to talk to. While we were talking, I told him what an honor it was to meet a living Medal Of Honor recipient, and that next Sunday (4APR) marks the 12th anniversary of my best friend SFC Paul R. Smith earning the first MOH for the war in Iraq, and the 10th anniversary of President Bush awarding Paul's MOH posthumously to his son David. He then presented a challenge coin to me with Congressional Medal Of Honor Society and the Army version of the ribbon that matches the medal on one side of the coin, and on the other side of the coin, it has his name, date he earned the medal, his unit, and a depiction of the MOH on it. Without a doubt, this is now my personal favorite challenge coin I ever received.
