I joined the corps in the fall but then un-enrolled from A&M so I dropped the Corps. I ended up re-enrolling at A&M, and want to rejoin but am not sure whether I want to frog-in or join for the full 4-years, seeing as I plan on getting my master's degree at A&M as well. Any advice?

G.W. - send me an e-mail at jramirez@corps.tamu.edu and we can discuss options with you. Its your call, obviously, but we can lay out the different options and how each can affect you personally.

I look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you in the Corps again!

Do all 4. It's been almost 25 years ago now but those fish year experiences are the ones you remember most. It won't seem too much fun at times, but I promise, your experience will be much richer having gone through your fish year with your buddies. Go for it!

Do 4 years, you will not regret it. One of my fish buddies did something similar to what you would be doing & [many] years later stands by it was the best decision.

If you're going to be at A&M for 4 years, then I think you should do 4 years.

But if you spent a good bit of time in your old outfit (close to a full semester at least), and really bonded with your buddies, and still keep in contact with them, then I could see that as a good reason to do a semester in one of the other outfits and then frog into your old outfit to be with your buddies.

That would be a horse of a different color. I could get behind that. If you spent a semester or longer & want to be with your buddies.

If it were me, I'd look at the option that allows me to rejoin my buddies (outfit, if possible; and most importantly - class year). Hopefully Commandant has the ability to make that happen.

Definitely get back in though. I've talked to Aggies who were non-regs, and a full 86% of them have indicated that they missed out on not being in the Corps.

Do all 4 years especially if you're planning on needing that much time to graduate.

I'm c/o '98, but there was absolutely nothing worse than a frog that wasn't a prior service guy.

Our son frogged into D co. A couple of years ago and loves the Corps. He switched to a different outfit, due to personality conflicts with another D Co member. BUT if he had the chance to frog in again, I believe he would do the full four years if possible.
