I thought since some of you may have been stationed in El Paso at one time, i would give this board a shot.

My grandmother has a painting that her sister did in 1961 while living in El Paso. Not sure if they mountain here is real or imagined. The peak kinda resembles El Capitan in the Guadalupe Mountains, but the rest of the mountain doesn't really fit.

Just curious if this looks familiar to anyone.

Thanks

I am going to take a guess and say that it might be a landscape viewed from somewhere near highway 54 between El Paso and Alamogordo. There are scattered mountains in the basin. This could be near Oro Grande and the Jarilla Mountains. It could also be east of the city near Hueco Tanks.
