He has an air defense artillery MOS. Interesting time to be in South Korea with an ADA MOS, following the submarine missile launch recently by North Korea.

Did they move all the ADA training to Ft Sill from Ft Bliss? I was an intern at White Sands Missile Range WAY back in the day. Ft Bliss, WSMR, and Holloman AFB made one hell of a combo (and still do I'm guessing). Add to that the Navy detachments at WSMR and you had a real multi service national asset.

And and I don't doubt you are very proud of your son for serving his country, as you well should be!

I'm not sure if all ADA training is at Ft. Sill; however, I believe it is. My son went through AIT for his 14H MOS there. The AIT training for other 14 series (14E, 14G, and 14T) is at Ft Sill. THAAD classroom training is there also.

Best of luck to him! I've had several friends be picked up for a South Korea tour this year. They weren't too happy about it but are making the most of it. Hopefully, he's able to a see little of the world and never have to do his job.
