Best Co-Ed PT Outfit?

I'm a current high school junior and I'm looking into what outfit would be best with my major and interests to no avail. I'm applying for ROTC military obligation scholarships for each branch and my intended major is Aerospace Engineering.
I'm huge on PT and keep up with the guys in my high school's Battalion, but as a girl when I approached looking for an outfit that's really great on PT, I've found that ones I'm interested in (H-1) are male-only outfit.
Without any roots in Texas or any friends currently in the corps, I've been left with little help in making a decision so I've had to rely on my own research up until this point. I've found that it's really difficult to gauge the level of seriousness that an Outfit takes PT just by the short paragraphs given on the school's website.
So I suppose my question is, what is the best Co-Ed outfit for PT? And would there be any case in which a female could test high enough on PT in order to be accepted into an all male outfit?
Thank you in advance for advice and insight!

Before this goes too far, No.

Do you have any suggestions as for a Co-Ed Outfit that really stresses PT then?

Your best bet would be to join a Navy/Marine outfit and then go out for a special unit like Recon or Seal Platoon. I'm too far removed from the Corps to know which units are the best at PT, but remember that you go to college to get a degree. Even if you go to college just so you can get through ROTC and become an officer, you still need that degree to do so. With that in mind, don't discount units that emphasize academics, because you can always find a special unit to keep you in shape.

Adding on to that, if you're truly looking to get in excellent shape you'll need to workout outside of your outfit workouts. 3-4 workouts a week won't cut it.

Also PT is something that really changes year to year in most outfits but outfits keep whatever reputation the Quad has decided they earned at some point.

I'm a current cadet (rising Senior). Drop me an email at charliebrowncrew@gmail.com if you have any questions you don't want to ask Gunny or want a Cadet's input on what he says.

The Lance Coolie underground is alive and well in the Corps!

Or join an Army outfit and go out for a special unit like Rudder's, Ranger Challenge, or Pathfinders.

Or join an Air Force outfit and go out for a special unit like the PJs.

Or, realize that no outfit will make you a PT god and that it is entirely dependent upon your personal effort. You can be in a nuclear engineering honors society and still ruck on your own

Re: co-Ed vs all male units: everything in the military is integrated. If you want training and education for your future job, consider the training environment. Do you want realism, or do you want to join a fraternity?

PT takes care of itself in the Corps. It would be smarter to pick an outfit populated with engineering majors so you'll have loads of in-house academic help over your four years. Apologies for sounding preachy, but aero is no cakewalk and you will need help. Check this link of Corps outfits--you can see the STEM units by using the link at page bottom:

That's really interesting. When I was there F-2 was considered "technical," but had less than a handful of people who weren't liberal arts majors. Sq12 was technical and had a decent number of engineers and science majors. But none of the other units that were technical are on that list. And I-1 somehow became technical? That just seems odd.

My recollection is that, unless they had a specific outfit they wanted to join, fish were automatically assigned to outfits by major as much as possible so they had plenty of in-house upperclass academic help.

BTW, what happened to battalions and groups? The Corps link only shows brigades, regiments and wings. Seems an intermediate command level has disappeared........

Got rid of them in the early 2000's, I believe. I was told by upperclassmen that the major unit staff used to just push everything onto the minor unit staff, and you basically had one level of leadership that served no real purpose, or something like that. Sounds a lot like the real world to me.

Yeah, probably right. My only thought is that having just brigade-level staffs seems to make the Corps rather rank-heavy with the nine 3-diamond CT commanders only owning the same four outfits or so apiece that eight 2-diamond battalion-level commanders once managed.

You're not gonna get into an all male outfit. It's all male for a reason.

Sq 4 is a pretty good integrated outfit in the likes of PT.

I apologize if this sounds insensitive or kinda brutal, but none of the non integrated outfits are interested in integrating. Ever. Don't try and be "that" person and try for them. You'll try, you'll fail, and you'll become the butt of jokes for years.

What is your PFT score? 5 mile time? Max Pull ups? Max bench? ect... Different people have different definitions of being in good shape. What is yours?

Aerospace Engineering is no joke Focus on academics first, second, and third. After you have your head above water academically start looking in to other things.

I agree 100%. The Corps is a leadership training environment. It does not need to implement real world efficiency. Battalions gave lots of juniors and seniors leadership opportunities they otherwise would have lacked. Seems foolish to get rid of them. Maybe give them more autonomy.

My PFT is a 290. My 5 mile time is 36 minutes and change. Max pull-ups are 20. Max bench is 130, only like 20 pounds more than I weigh.

Good job. 290 w/which service? Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine? I assume that's on the male scale given the context of the thread. What sports do you play?

That's with Army and with the male standards. I run XC, track, and I'm Varsity PT, OT and Raider Team
