Does anyone know of any scholarly works on this subject?

I had a Navy friend say that the Clintons used the tailhook scandal to begin a purge of senior leadership.

I believe there was some kind of social experiment going on with the military prior to popping smoke and getting out. Some of the greatest times I had in the Army were praying before training or at the range. Church in Iraq was so powerfully moving.

I really hope someone is looking into this.

A former Reagan advisor, I forgot his name, said the US military was run by a "Christian al Qaeda." Meaning that at the highest levels of leadership there was a fundamentalist Christian group.

The social experiments that are going on are alienating a large group of Christian service members.

That clear enough?

I've been in 15 years now and I haven't seen anything like that. But I am also not at the top nor will I ever be.

So you're saying that Ronald Reagan was part of Al Qaeda?

Every battalion/squadron had their own chaplain, each brigade/regiment has their own, each division has several, and each post has several different denominations. Fort Hood alone probably has around 150 chaplains/priests/rabbi's etc....There is no war on christian's.

No I'm not. The advisor years after the Reagan presidency made the statement about senior level military leadership being a Christian al Qaeda.

When I got out there was an increasingly apparent evangelical tint to much of the senior leadership and even the chaplain corps. Most of the mainline Protestants I knew went to the Catholic services because they felt uncomfortable in the nondenominational Protestant service. I'd hardly say there is a war on Christians in the military.

I've never felt unwelcome as a Christian in the military. Chaplains and religious support personnel are fairly well integrated into the force and worship services are readily available even at sea and in deployed environments. Just prior to taps on every ship I've served aboard that also had a chaplain embarked, there was a prayer said aloud for the entire crew to hear.

I think the people who tend to have trouble in the military are those who don't quite grasp that the nature of military service inevitably changes the manner in which you exercise your freedoms. For example, as a senior officer, I have to remember that sometimes my subordinates will take what I say as a directive, and so I have to be careful about what I say and how I say it.

So you're saying that Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf was behind 9/11?
