I like toms BBQ and Germantown commissary in Memphis.

Get some mutton in KY. If you're going to be in the Owensboro area eat at Bills for awesome food, ol south for mutton and Nikos for Italian.

I like broadway bayou Bistro And pucketts in Nashville.

Nashville - Monell's, make sure you allocate time for a nap afterward.

Not unless you get lucky at a distillery or pay through the nose.

Check out midtown Corkdorks in Nashville for booze.

Lots of whiskey and rum plus store picks.

You have to go to Rendezvous for some ribs and a pitcher of beer if you're in Memphis. Central BBQ is another good spot with a few locations around town, and I would second the recommendation for Commissary in Germantown.

If you're into breweries, Wiseacre is a good spot.

Definitely draft beer and dry ribs at Rhendevous. It is an institution in Memphis.

And if you go through Little Rock, Does Eat Place for great steaks.

Beef ribs at Rendezvous are good. Then you can go watch the ducks at Peabody.

If you decide on Nashville, more to do there. And you can drive 3 hrs into Bourbon country.

I like the Gus's fried chicken in Memphis. Of course, I think there's one off of Washington in Houston that I haven't been to yet.

Chain. One in Austin also.

True, it's a chain with about 40 locations last I checked. It started out of Memphis though I think.

Central BBQ may not be the best in Memphis, but it is one of the most iconic, and it didn't disappoint.

We've eaten at Central and Rendevous and would call both ok. For the best ribs in Memphis, we recommend The Bar-B-Q Shop. Wiseacre is a great brewery. We also like Iris for something fancy. Hog and Hominy and The Beauty Shop are great places too. And Hueys for a burger. Our daughter lives there so I threw out some other ideas besides BBQ.
In Nashville, we love going to Biscuit Love for breakfast. Get the Bonuts. And, Arnold's Country Kitchen for a meat and three lunch.

No.

The locals like bourbon, and they know the good stuff. Then add in a non-stop parade of bourbon tourists from other states scouring the store shelves thinking they will score the rare stuff to take home and Kentucky is actually one of the absolute worst places to find allocated bottles on a shelf.
