We are exploring the uses of an air fryer/oven and being uninformed, was hoping to get some unbiased recommendations from some of you. Brands, features, what to stay away from, etc. would be great. Mainly used for wife and I with occasional grown kids eating with us.

Never thought I would say that I bought one but picked up one at Costco (Gourmia) for 39.00 and it is awesome. It's great for 2 people of if you had kids that want to eat quickly. You can do prepared type foods and we do it occasionally, like panko breaded shrimp for tacos or just a simple meal or I've done lobster tails in it and they were spot on perfect. Does bacon really well too. I have not done steaks in it yet just because I like to smoke mine but I will give it a try some day. I've done salmon as well and it's darn good..

I'd suggest what ever you buy that it has a large enough container. My neighbor bought one and they can barely get a chicken breast on it.

I'd do it as I figure I waste 39.00 in a month on stupid stuff so why not an airfryer. Hope it helps.

I just picked up a Gourmia air fryer the other day. Haven't even thrown the packaging away yet.
How do you cook your bacon in it?
...take it easy on me, I'm a normal horn

We have one and it's awesome. It's best with prepared foods. But perfect for leftover fried chicken, French fries, pizza, etc.

However it REALLY shines with baked potatoes. We will microwave for a few minutes, then into the air fryer to finish. Perfectly crispy skin and perfect consistency inside. We do stuffed baked potatoes 2-3 times per month and it is the preferred method. Plus we aren't heating the oven/kitchen when we do!

I have a Breville. No joke, we use it pretty much every day. Mainly the kid uses it for pizza. He's gotten it where he knows the exact setting to put a frozen pizza in and not even let the oven reheat. Optimal laziness. But the air fryer setting and toaster/broiler setting get a lot of use too. I used the dehydrator function to make beef jerky several times. I even ran it really really low for 3 days straight to make biltong. It's a workhorse.

Best kitchen gadget I ever bought.

Hit the power button and press bacon away you go...if you like it crisper, add another 2 minutes or so.

I have this exact same model and also use it on a daily basis. This is by far my favorite item in my kitchen, I use it for all the things you would normally use a toaster oven for and the air fry feature is great.

These are pricey but very high quality. I was able to buy a used one in great condition for much less than retail.

My brothers and I have bought different air fryers for our families. After trying Gourmia,Ninja XL and others, this is the one I like best:

Innsky Air Fryer

All of the larger models seem to cook the same to me. The linked model has an extra large SQUARE container....meaning you can lay bacon straight and side by side. Other foods just seem to fit in more optimized way.

If you don't like it, return it for free. Gourmia has gone up to $55 at Costco. Innsky is $85 currently and others tries are >$100.
