Just made a large batch of teriyaki beef jerky. Fantastic results. Here is an easy recipe for teriyaki sauce. You use it for salmon, flanken steaks, and stir fries:
1 part each (brown sugar, water, soy sauce).
A few drops of sesame oil.
Sprinkle of garlic powder.
Black pepper (optional)
FRESH grated ginger to taste.
You can store ginger in plastic storage bags in the freezer. I nuke the ginger for a few seconds then grate it.
I almost forgot. You can use the sauce to make Japanese Hibachi at home.
