I highly recommend stopping at L'Auberge and eating whatever is the special from Chef Lyle Broussard. He's consistently featured as a top chef in Lake Charles. It looks like he is at the Barstool Sportsbook right now.
The last time we were there he was the chef at the Jack Daniels Bar inside the casino, but we ordered everything he had on special that day and it was delicious. We told our waitress we were there because of him, and he came out and met us and then gave us a few appetizers he was testing to go on the menu later. Give him a google or check out his Instagram (@ChefLyleB).
Lake Charles also promotes a boudin trail (
Southwest Louisiana Boudin Trail by Visit Lake Charles - Issuu) if that's your thing. We stopped in at B&O Grocery, which is more of a meat market than a restaurant, but they had boudin egg rolls that were pretty legit. (Disclaimer: This was pre-pandemic, so I haven't been recently.)
