Keep the air fryer clean

How do y'all keep your air fryers clean? I've got a small 4qt one that I mainly use for light stuff like fries, brussel sprouts, etc. It gets little grease stains that don't completely clean up, but nothing major. Made some chicken drumsticks in it yesterday, and they came out great. But there was so much grease and gunk stuck on it, and in the bottom that it took forever to clean out, even after soaking. Even then, the tray inside didn't fully get clean. Only thing to clean off some of the gunk on the tray was my finger nail.

I do have a silicone liner with holes in it. And I feel that helps with fries and stuff, but don't think it does much for something like chicken that is going to drip through. I put down parchment paper for the first half of the cooking to catch most of the initial liquid, but removed it for the second half to allow the chicken to crisp up some more.

Any tips?

What version do you have? I have a ninja and just throw the whole tray basket thingie in the dishwasher. Works fantastic.

It's a basket style that's dishwasher safe. Bella brand. But I live by myself, so I cook, eat, and clean up right away. Hardly use the dishwasher.

Do you put it in the dishwasher after every use? Or after a few uses?

Depends on what you're cooking but for some things you can line basket with parchment paper to help prevent mess.

I have a Breville Oven with an air fryer option. I take it outside, crank it to 500 degrees and let 'er rip for a while to burn everything off.
