I'm not a scotch guy. But, I have a client who is and I am taking happy hour items to our meeting this week.

1) What are some snacks that go well with scotch?
2) Any new scotch brands out there that are not too expensive (over $100) but would be well received?

There is a recent article (March 23rd) online at WhiskyAdvocate about charcuterie boards for whisky. The pairing will depend greatly on what scotch you are going with. Big peaty and smoky Islay whisky will go well with cured/smoked/salted meats while your Speyside whisky will likely pair well with dried fruits, cheese, honey and even good chocolate.

That's the one, thank you. On my work computer and IT has alcohol based websites (amongst others) blocked so couldn't grab the link.
