And how did it turn out? Would you recommend it?

I'm looking to expand my cooking skills and explore different recipes.

I made this Middle East flavored chicken and rice that tasted pretty good. I made a few tweaks to the recipe, like adding in cinnamon, extra garlic, and adjusting different spices a bit. I think it turned out pretty good. Would recommend it.

I would try mild white meat fish like tilapia, Chilean sea bass, flounder, redfish, etc. Add spices that he likes. If he likes grilled meats, grill some shrimp and put it in a taco with plenty of acid. Try to mask any fishiness.

If he likes his steaks well done, he's a lost cause. Just move on from him.

Sour cream noodle bake by the Pioneer Woman. I've done it before but it's been a few years. I just wish my kids liked green onions bc I omit them to make the kids happy. Edit to add the fact mine has no sour cream just Greek yogurt and I always season my meat when I'm browning it which she doesn't.

Not a new recipe but I did try something new. I make salsa basically every 2 weeks, normally avocado tomatillo salsa as long as I can get decent tomatillos. I usually broil all the tomatillos, onion, garlic and peppers. This time I kept a little bit of the onion raw and one of the serranos to have a mix of charred and raw veggies, changed up the flavor a little bit, there's just a little more going on in there now compared to when everything was cooked. I don't know if raw tomatillo is palatable or not so I didn't do any of that. I'll probably try the same system the next time I make tomato salsa, char some of the ingredients but also have some raw at the same time.

How long does it keep in the fridge? Mind sharing the amounts? We go through a lot of salsa

Not the person you asked the question of, and I don't know much about avocados but I've been doing the ArnieTex salsa pretty regularly and it lasts at least a couple weeks...tomatoes, peppers, onion, lime juice and cilantro. I've had some linger on for a month without any issues. I keep it in a covered/closed container in the fridge. About to make a new batch with half of the ingredients smoked for around 3 hours today too.

Mine is fine up to 2 weeks. Here's what I do:

1 lb tomatillos
1 large avocado
3 serranos
about a quarter to 1/3rd cup of onion
3 garlic cloves
cilantro to taste
juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon of salt

And thanks to OP for the info on the raw tomatillos, will do some of those next time as well.

Do they like tuna? The wife makes an awesome tuna noodle casserole. Great with salmon too.

I didn't eat any seafood, then came back from a tour in Okinawa eating sashimi. I think the trick to getting me eating seafood was giving me good/high quality seafood.

Roasted cabbage on a sheet pan in the oven. Quick and easy. Needed more seasoning than recipe called for, but will use this method in a time crunch.

Try roasting cabbage, potatoes and your favorite sausage together. Potatoes first, then add the cut up sausage, then the cabbage during the last 15/20 minutes or so

Talking about deer meat recipes and our den leader makes this for his boys and they sop it up. Tried it for my 3 and it was a hit. There were some substitutions, but you get the general idea of ground meat to barley with enough liquid to cook the barley and leave a sauce. Heads up that the barley soaks up most of your seasoning and salt, so be prepared to adjust at the simmer start, middle and finish. I want to test it in the instapot, but it is pretty hands free and quick to start. Monday instead of the sauce as written I used a mild curry simmer sauce, made sure it had enough water and bulked out the seasoning with more curry powder and bouillon. Served it with rice and it too was a hit. I think the real story here is I discovered quick cooking barley.

I came here to post the same. Move on!

If he puts ketchup on his burnt steak, run like the wind. Irreconcilable differences!
