What am I going to drink when I'm over there next month? Not really a wine drinker at all anymore, so I'm just curious what options I'll have.
A couple years ago in Sweden/Norway they had Brooklyn brews everywhere. So when something local didn't sound great there was a backup. I do recall a few brew pubs having West Coast IPAs and my mind being slightly blown…

It's not French, but get real Peroni if they have it. It comes in a red bottle, not the gross blue bottle Nastro Azzuro that you can get in the US.

We did drink a bunch of French wine in first class on the way to Japan a few years ago. I guess with the right food, I might be able to appreciate it. I just hate wasting my time when I know a few beers can set the afternoon off right….

Correct.. Doesn't matter if you're in the USA, France, China, whatever.. Belgian is the play. They are far and away the preeminent beer makers on this planet.

had some French micro brew a few years ago there. it was interesting to taste another place's take on craft beer but as said above the best I had there was Belgian stuff.

I thought these breweries had some really good beer:

Nano Brasserie SPO (can be hard to find)
Popihn Sauvages
La Montagnarde Sauvage
Ammonite was suggested to us as an interesting French take on beer - fermentation done in wine casks; interesting in a very French way

Man there is nothing like French wine especially from the Loire valley, but I am no wine/beer snob

I drink Coors Light, Tequila and rum mostly
