A replacement for huy fongs sriracha (the one with the rooster on the front)? With the shortage and inflated prices, it's hard to find the original

No. When are they going to be available again? It's been at least a year or two since I've seen any in stores.

Been using Fix Signature Sriracha as a replacement. I find it pretty good. Has little bit more garlic hint.

Anything that remotely tastes the same?

Not that I've found and I've tried 2 or 3 different brands.

I really like Yellowbird organic sriracha. The non organic one sucks.

I think this is decent honestly but I'm no Sriracha snob by any means. As long as it has that kick in good with it.

Same. It's ok. Not quite HFs though . I'm not sure I can define how it's different. It tastes more "dull" if that makes any sense.

I don't have any currently but this sauce tastes a lot like sriracha hot sauce.

I've gone through several bottles of that Humble House Guajillo sauce, and while it's wonderful and delicious.... it tastes nothing like sriracha. It's too sweet and too savory, and not hot enough and not salty enough.

This is all I could find at the local Hong Kong market in south Texas
Flavor is similar but it's very runny and not viscous at all. Not quite the same.

HF were some ***** nozzles that fcked around with their farmers and found out the hard way.

Short story: HF promised to purchase large inventory of their future crop (at a certain price) to their pepper farmer that supplied all their crop in order for them to justify expanding their operation. When the farmer outlaid the cash to expand their farm, HF went out for rebid on the pepper contract and found a cheaper price somewhere else and stuck the farmers with the bill.

The original HF pepper farmers are now making their own brand of sauce with the original peppers, which they sell direct from their website. If you're missing the old flavor, i'd recommend supporting the farmers in their endeavor.

Thanks for the background. I was wondering what was going on. Didn't understand why HF was facing such a drastic chili shortage but hadn't heard any other manufacturers say the same.

Any alternatives for the Huy Fong chili garlic or sambal oelek? Those are both effing delicious and I like them more so than sriracha.

I've seen it at Academy, in the BBQ and Grilling section, and sometimes at HEB.

Looks like HF paid the farmer $23M from a lawsuit and after 28 years stopped doing business in the 2017 timeframe.

Greed probably ruined the relationship from one or both sides.

Still have 1/2 a bottle in the fridge.

Looks like there's more to the story than that. From a few articles, it seems like greed on both sides of that relationship.

Yeah, I really like the chili garlic. Bought some from a local Indian store here in Virginia. Got different sambal sauce though.

And regarding the OP. Was at Trader Joe's yesterday. They have their own brand of Sriracha. I'm not a huge fan of it, so didn't buy any. Can't vouch for it. Doubt you have a Trader Joes nearby you though.
