I'm hoping someone here can make a recommendation on fine dining restaurants with good wine for a business dinner in Corpus or Port Aransas? I have out-of-state customers coming next week for an equipment dinner and need recommendations. Unfortunately, Trip Advisor doesn't seem to list any consistently good places. And I, a native Texan, have never been to either town!

Steak house is prefered but open to other suggestions.

Thank you,

Vietnam or Republic of Texas in Corpus. I prefer Vietnam between the two

Dragonfly Restaurant or Island Time if you want to go over the bridge to NPI

Seafood and Spaghetti works in Port A

If you want a nice steakhouse restaurant with good wine selection, Republic fits the bill and then adds views of Corpus Christi bay on top of that.

Agree with Republic and Vietnam. Katz 21 is also a steak house and may have the best wine selection in Corpus. It's arguable between Republic and Katz. Republic definitely has best view. Vietnam may have the best steak in town, which is strange because they are a Vietnamese restaurant. There are always off the menu fish specials and the filet or chateaubriand is possibly best steak dish in Corpus.

I had the worst experience at the Republic of Texas. Nice 20th Floor location on the Omni but the service was terrible

Not a bunch Downtown for fine dining but Waterstreet and the Railhead are dependable

Republic is good. There is also Katz 21 and Niko's for steak.

Niko's has great steaks but it's not in a very exciting place to woo clients.

Republic has a much better location and decent steaks.

Corpus doesn't have a great selection of steakhouses, but if you're looking for hole-in-the-wall TexMex joints or seafood you can't beat it.

Yardarm is a cool spot if you like seafood

If it's client focused then Republic Of Texas is the answer

Thanks very much to everyone.

I was concerned over the Republic's reviews but there are some interesting alternatives here!

Appreciate everyone's suggesitons!

I think if you want a unique to the coastal bend view and atmosphere you have to pick either Republic or yardarm. I'd be willing to go at a non busy time and make a res or be prepared for a wait and slow service… unfortunately.

If food quality is more important (and not necessarily steak houses) but as mentioned Vietnam Restaurant never disappoints and in Port A Venetian hot plate are all good other options.

For steak houses in town with good food but nothing special as far as corpus uniqueness I'd say Katz 21, Prime , Nikos in that order.

Lastly some non steak places to consider: Rock N Roll sushi and Island Time Sushi are top notch and on the island.

Unfortunately I've heard it's Under new management and heard a few terrible reviews lately.

Wife and I went to Port A last fall. Getting service during off season is rough. We couldn't get in to several and even wait a bar as they didn't have staff.
Ended up by chat at Venetian Hot Plate. Didn't have reservations but they worked two of us in. Great food and service. Definitely get reservations for a business group.
Good Day.

I can't fathom it getting bad reviews. I eat there a couple of times a year, and it's always been great. One warning - THE SIDES ARE FOR SHARING.

Not AP, but pretty close and worth looking at.

495 Chesapeake in Rockport is awesome, and a hell of a bar selection. Can't speak on the wine, but their bourbon selection was well above average. The crab dip appetizer is the best I've ever had and you can make a meal out of it alone.

Latitude 28*02' is also supposed to be really good, but I have never been personally.

The Groove Steak and Lobster House is a good spot for steaks as well. Not as fancy as 495 and Latitude, but their food is on par with those two.
