My CyberQ cloud gave out on me so I've been eyeing this unit with the Billows fan for my WSM. Glad to catch it on a good sale.

Can't speak for the Billows fan but have had the signals for years and it's been great.

Mine doesn't hold temp worth a crap and neither does a friend's. I ended up biting the bullet and getting a pellet instead

Big green egg. The billows way overshoots target temperature on mine

Do you use the damper on it?

Yes, I had a previous controller that worked flawlessly so I'm familiar with operating them. That company doesn't make them any more so I went with Thermoworks based on reputation. To be fair, I never called customer service to try and get it fixed or replaced.

My cyberq has worked well. Durability issues with small pieces breaking, now won't connect to internet. Still controls the temp ok but the power cable falls out frequently, I can't check up on it without going out to physically check it. I will be doing some tests on the new one before relying on it for a cook.

Well I got it Tuesday night. Did a test burn on it yesterday. It ran solid for 12 hours. I simulated opening the lid to spritz, all kinds of different things. It would spike and recover within 10 minutes. Ran it at 225 for 7 hours, bumped up to 250 for 3 hours, and then 275 for another 2 hours. Rock solid the whole time. So I'm impressed. Will be using it on an overnight brisket cook tomorrow night.
