Ran out of my usual vodka at Lake Charles a couple of weeks ago, and bought "Member's Mark" vodka at Sam's (still odd to me you can buy liquor at Sam's and the Walmarts). It was actually darn smooth……although mixing with cranberry can darn near make kerosene drinkable. Anyone else tried it?

IOW, it's the same as every other "premium" Vodka distilled 6 times but at least the profits aren't going to to t.u. NIL like the best seller out of Austin

It's only odd if you have always lived in Texas. Nice to pop in to CVS or Circle K to pick up what you need.

I don't drink vodka. However, my KGB friend tells me Dripping Springs Vodka is excellent and pretty much every other local vodka is crap.

You and I are probably similar ages and it wasn't until I moved out of state last year that I discovered liquor in C stores, pharmacies, grocery stores.

Bottom Line on Vodka:
Start at the cheapest and move up until you don't get a hangover. Anything more is wasted money

Better Solution:
Drink real liquor like gin or whiskey

I drink brown water but it is hard to pound poolside. Deep Eddy Grapefruit and Topo Chico with a squeeze of lime is pretty hard to beat.

The liquor in C stores was a new one for me too. We were in Maine for a week and I drove to the state-owned liquor store across the line in New Hampshire before I realized that there was liquor at the C store a block from our house.

There's a vodka thread here somewhere, but my point about vodka remains unchanged: if it comes in a glass bottle, it's good vodka.
