So about 3 weeks ago we bought a tub for the house from HEB and noticed the cookies were way down and the the big chunks of cookie pretty much non-existent. We chalked it up to maybe just an off batch or bad luck batch.

But Sat night we had a good size gathering at the house and got 2 more boxes and this time from Kroger and once again the cookies were very little, very little chunks in one, almost no chunks in the other and just a spackle of cookies. Its basically a light color plain tasteless vanilla with no Oreo flavor at all.

Anyone seeing this? Hoping its just a bad run by Blue Bell and not a change in actual ingredients/quantities. Im not one of these guys that loves everything BB but their CnC has always been great.

Just got back from Arizona. Surprisingly, Blue Bell was everywhere. I got CnC 3 different times, 3 diff places and had similar thought, no real chunks.

We are Astro season ticket holders. I got addicted to CnC there, because it seemed like there were way more cookies. It became a habit to get CnC every game. Now when i get it at other places it seems like there is very little cookie.

Sorry i cant add anything empirical, but you should keep investigating

In this age of shrinkflation in consumer food products at retailers and grocers, as well as Blue Bell's post-listeria outbreak incident, I can all but gurantee that there are less of the mix in cookies in their ice cream

Same observation here. Bought a container of CnC in Johnson City and the big chunks that provide texture and flavor are missing.

The Groom's Cake was delicious though.

HEB's Creamy Creations Puppy Love is my current favorite. Sadly my store has been out of it now for two weeks. If anyone knows of an HEB that has it in stock in the Austin area, please let me know. Thanks and gig 'em.

Creamy Creations Grasshopper is my current obsession (mint CnC). Lots of chunks.

I make homemade cookies and cream ice cream with Thin Mints and it's one of the tastier flavors I've made.

Hagen Daz is the best store bought because they don't use thickeners to make fake ice cream like most brands in the half-gallon section

Creamy Creations is ass.

Same. There's basically at times a chunk of a half cookie in there. Makes me want to try their CnC

Tillamook is better than anything else in the grocery store by a mile.

Preach. I never realized how awful and overrated Blue Bell is until I tried Tillamook.

Felt the same way the first time I tried Tillamook, but man HEB's Swoon might just have it beat. For those above that are missing the mix-ins from Blue Bell, you gotta give Swoon a shot. Packed to the gills with the good stuff.

Their strawberry ice cream might be the best on the market.

Swoon is great too. I prefer to buy by the pint and the selection is far better than Tillamook in that size. I'm a big fan of the Key Lime Pie in particular.

+1 here for another Tillamook fan. Their ice cream is excellent and you absolutely cannot beat the value.

I'm just glad Blue Bell has stopped killing people.
