That substitution makes zero sense. See it happen all the time unintentionally, and never intentionally.

Punctuation placed in the text of embedded links causes the link to run through the end tag.

Keegan99, i've always wondered about the wink myself (i didn't write our current forums).

looks like the ") was first being changed to [ampersand]quot;" which was then being picked up for the wink. funny. I stopped it.

sorry, I'm not prepared to jump into the forum code parser for the current forums (it's a mess), but I promise those issues will be gone in the next couple of months (you've already waited a decade, what's a couple months?

)

ditto Keagan on the apostrophes, i remember them being removed initially due to some security hole, and I'm not ready to look through the code to track down the original problem. they will be allowed in the new forums.
