"in reply to" tag on post

How long do you want to ignore this user?

Some posts reference a previous post in the header (desktop version only, apparently) - ie the header of a post will say "in reply to (previous poster's handle)" on the right side before the time stamp.

How do it know who to reference?

That's actually a helpful feature on some posts, some threads, but I don't know when or how that tag is created.

If you click the Quote button on the actual post, or the Reply button (to the left of the quote button), then your post will show as In reply to user.

If you use the Post Reply buttons at the top or bottom of a thread, then your post will not be in reply to another user.
