The finale is here! After a long long long, but amazing season. We are here at one final conference game. Nearly 5 months of basketball, 30 games later, only one more tip-off separates us from conference play. Today at 3pm we take on the LSU Tigahs for the regular season finale!
This time of year it's all about seed lines and projections and bubble teams; and while we take in all the madness, let's remember to appreciate this beautiful time of year. It's starting to warm up outside, it's gonna get dark at 8 tomorrow, and it's March. ONLY 9 DAYS TILL SELECTION SUNDAY! 9 days!
But before all that, we have to take care of business once more. The Tigers are 3-14 in conference play with no hope of making the dance. Their play of recent is reflected on those hopes being dashed. For today's game they will be without 3 contributors including 2 of their top 4 scorers, and their 2 leading rebounders. They are still led by Cam Carter. If we slow him down, we win by double digits easily. We should easily control this game, unless we're looking ahead or not focused.
We are coming off a huge performance in our beat down of number 1 Auburn. That intensity and energy is what we've been wanting to see and know that our Ags have all season long. We've seen glimpses and we've seen halves that dominant. But on Tuesday, we were playing our brand of Aggie basketball. That style of play will take us far into March and hopefully even April. We have the defense and intensity to beat anyone in the country. Let's replicate that performance and put a stomping on LSU.
Today it's probably a given that Wade Taylor takes down the scoring record and become the highest scoring player in Aggie history. It's unfortunate it'll happen away from home and if you had to pick one of the other 15 arenas in the conference, I'm sure at LSU would've been towards the bottom lol. But let's stay healthy today, play some clean basketball, and it's important we keep the momentum going. Hopefully we shoot well and have our offense rolling as March continues.
Well most likely end up a 6 seed in the SEC tourney that begins on Wednesday. Let's root for teams around the 3 and 4 line to lose. 4 seems likely, but 3 is possible! Let's take care of business today and let it all play out! LSU has one foot out the door, let's shove them out of the arena completely. BTHO lsu
