People so pissed at buzz for the timeout before Wade hit the 3 are wrong. Go back and look at the replay. Buzz was signaling for the timeout when layne had the ball, hung up at the free throw line. It was a good timeout. If he had called it as Wade catches a wide open 3 look then I would agree, but Payne was stuck. I thought it was a very alert timeout.

Texas is very talented, played very well, and hit a bunch of difficult and deep shots. The fact that the longhorns only won 6 conference games is criminal.

Hopefully this win will keep terry as head coach.

We missed a crapload of free throws. Pharrell Payne….goodness. Rough day.

Manny playing well is huge.

Garcia played fantastic. Wade was fantastic.

It felt like some of the ticky tack fouls on us wanted to give the longhorns every possible chance to win and get in.

Losing this game will give us more rest and make us hungrier for the tournament that really matters.

I smell cope.

This team doesn't need more rest. They need grit and need to perform to expectations. They didn't show up to play today.

Nothing wrong with the time out. I saw the exact same thing you did. The play coming out of the TO was PUTRID.

Missing FTs to win the game in regulation and OT was also pathetic.

But to point to the TO and the fact that Wade made a 3 that Buzz never even knew could happen as some failure that lost the game is real dumb.

Mostly agree.

We lost.
It sucks.
We need to play better.
The rest won't be a negative.

I'm very sure the inbound lob play had multiple options, and the lob was prolly option #1. Wade just made a bad read.

To scream and holler about what a bad play buzz drew up is just dumb.

You could not watch this team play consistently or at any point in the past 3-4 years and say they are not gritty. That is the most defining characteristic of this team- today included. Grit was not our problem. Free throws were.

This team has grit to spare. It might be all they have at times. Look at our rebounding numbers, or how Garcia sprawls out on the floor after every loose ball… grit they have. And if they didn't, they aren't going to develop it at this point in the year. They certainly don't make it to 2OT without grit.

They, just like every team, are trying to win every game. They aren't trying to meet anyone's expectations. They are trying to win. Period. They didn't get that done today, because they didn't play their best and came against a team playing for their lives. That's a hard draw.

This loss doesn't hurt us. Especially seeing how hard we played. We earned that right by how we played all year, which arguably exceeded any realistic expectations anyone had at the beginning of the year. Who was legitimately expecting them to be ranked all year, including a long run in the top 10?

This team exceeded expectations and played with exceptional grit.

Yes free throws were horrendous.
And I hate it but Texas was damn good today.

Tre Johnson is a lottery pick. We don't have one of those.

Kaluma is a skilled, athletic, big who's underutilized, shooting 36% from 3. He will be in the nba.
Pope is a serious player, as is Aggie killer tramon mark.

Hard to believe this team only won 6 conference games.

We win with hustle, D, and rebounding which is a credit to Buzz and the team.

Having to win with hustle, D, and rebounding because Buzz hasn't been able to recruit or develop offense at this point in his tenure is a major failure.

This team could make the final four, but probably won't make it out of the first weekend because we will play some team that hits a bunch of crazy threes and we can't keep up.

Can't fault the effort/hustle/grit, as evidenced by rebounding & defense. But when you are a pitiful shooting team by every measure (2pt FG, 3pt FG, & FT), your margin for error shrinks dramatically.

An early exit is much more likely than a deep run.

There's no question but that the sips have a lot more future pro prospects all through their line-up than the Ags and it is only their putrid coaching that accounts for their paltry 6 season wins. They were a much better team talent wise overall than a number of the top 8 SEC teams. We had to play our very best to beat them today and failed to do so, particularly Payne and Phelps. That happens!

Not relaxing.

Terrible loss to a not so great team. If we have to share a conference with those **********s - someone in the AD should
Be reminded that we'd like to win.

We're likely to play a team just like this in rd1. It will be an unpredictable dogfight.

from the beginning of this season the only real thing that mattered was the ncaa tourney. this team was expected to make it and perform once they got there. a sweet 16 appearance with this many seniors should be the expectation.

if we make it to the sweet 16 or better than it was a success if not it was a failure. yesterday's game has no influence over how that plays out. until we are ousted from the tourney there really isn't anything to get to stressed about.

Most of the yelling and screaming about Buzz is dumb. Not saying he doesn't have areas where he could improve, but this board expects perfection from an imperfect game. He is trying to direct chaos in the moment.

We lost because #1 had the worst game he's had since he arrived on campus. His game yesterday was atrocious. Hopefully he spends every minute working on his jumper before the tournament begins

.695 from the FT line as a team over 32 games is the only stat anyone needs to know about how far A&M is going to the tournament.
Dead last in the conference. Arkansas is 8th out of the SEC and is at .734. If A&M was just as average as Arkansas, that's another 31 points on the board.

Whenever A&M loses in the tourney, you'll hear the announcers banging the drum of missed FTs down the stretch.

Wade and Phelps took half of the shots and made 21%.

The rest of the team made 51%.

That's been a problem the entire year.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.
Redfishag93
How long do you want to ignore this user?
If Wade and Phelps shoot a decent percentage and we get something out of manny I believe we can make a deep run.

Realistically, that stuff doesn't all happen often so a deep run is unlikely.

I will be disappointed if we don't make the sweet 16 however.
