Those bigs aren't going to let Wade bail us out on offense with drives to the rim. Will have to be efficient on offense and hit shots. Just typing that sentence has me shook.

We're not going to suddenly become efficient on offense and hit shots. We can win, but it won't be because of some big improvement in offensive efficiency.

Despite their size, Michigan is 176th in defensive rebounding. We're 1st in offensive rebounding.

Michigan is 53rd in offensive efficiency. We're 10th in defensive efficiency.

So it's the same as usual. Crash the boards on offense for 2nd chances to make up for our horrid shooting, and play scrappy defense. Michigan is also 193rd in 3PT %, so hopefully there's limited damage there as well.

What SEC team is Michigan most similar to in terms of size, pace of play, strengths and weaknesses?

I don't think there are any SEC teams quite like Michigan. They're maybe like a bad version of Florida with their size but their bigs aren't nearly as good as Florida's.

But they struggled both times with Michigan State which is a team that were a lot like on paper.

tbis should be a heck of a game. i think it actually favors us. they are big but they have played very few teams that can hang with them on the boards which we can and we are quicker. we will need to shoot the ball well to win but it's doable for sure.

Get their bigs into foul trouble! We also ran a good amount of screens with Payne yesterday, expect more of that! Defensively secure the rebound and frustrate their bigs! We got this!

Love Jace - but I don't trust him to shoot in spite of yesterday. I hope we can count on his defense, toughness, and rebounding for a few minutes here and there - but much prefer Manny, Zurich, Hefner, Taylor, and Wilcher (and even Garcia) taking our threes whenever we decide to shoot from outside.

I'm okay with Hef getting minutes provided on the offensive end he is thinking drive first (dive and dish if needed) but he needs to attack he lane and quit shooting 3s.

Taylor is the man. Love his game. But lately he's gotten a bit too lackadaisical with the long-range transition 3 from the logo. I wish in these times he'd either attack the lane with his momentum or set up a half-court offense and let our bigs eat - they were killing it inside the paint last night. Wade needs to understand this and feed the beasts when its working.

But the occasional bad 3 that we take won't sink us. Let's be honest. We leave an average of 7-10 points a game at the FT line. This will be what makes/breaks us down the stretch.

Every team hunts Wilcher on defense, so him knocking down a 3 even 40% of the time doesn't make up for the 80% shooting/fouls from the other side when they hunt him down and get a great shot. Hef is no Gary Payton on D, but he is worlds better than Wilcher. Garcia is a much better statistical player than Wilcher, so agree with you.

Yeah, Garcia's been needing to shoot more threes for like three years and he's finally doing it. He even has a pretty quick trigger when the spirit moves him to. Manny is a pretty good shooter but he has to be absolutely wide open because his shot takes forever, but Garcia can pop it.

I do like the matchup. Their bigs are good but not super athletic. If they go man and switch our guards will have good matchups for drives or pick and roll. If they go zone they will have a tougher time rebounding.

Not sure they have the depth to go small but if they do we likely control the boards.

They will foul us. Need to hit FT.

Michigan really turns it over too.

THIS!

We will be doing it right if Payne finds himself at the free throw line shooting either two or the "and one" at least 8 times!

That'll be part of getting to the Bonus early in both halves!

Also want to see some inside Aggie Big to Aggie Big passing for dunks and layups - likely most of them from Garcia to Payne, Solo and Hank!

And I am certain that Manny and Payne have discussed and planned the next alley oop pass for a dunk!
