It's so hard to figure out who will turn into good college players. You see big time recruits do nothing and you see guys come out of nowhere and be stars. Look at first team All-SEC for example. Wade was actually the highest rated of those guys and a lot of them were completely overlooked out of HS. Some went somewhere small first and them found their way to the Floridas and Auburns. So basically I have no clue if any of these guys we haven't seen will be worth a damn.
Payne- guy that can be first team all SEC. If we find guys that can shoot that helps him out a ton.
Washington- honestly had a disappointing year. The move to SF didn't go well on the offensive end. I love him defending guys on the perimeter, but honestly his defense tailed off late too. Has to be better next year.I think with his size he probably needs to play SF more than PF, but he has to play smarter and be better attacking the basket. '
Jaelynn Lee- we shouldn't expect or have expected anything from him based off him coming here as a walk-on with not much attention, but damn his athleticism is insane. But I don't see his role being different than it was this year which was practice guy. Maybe he proves me wrong and puts that athleticism to use.
Chris McDermott- He could be Henry Coleman-esque. A solid body to have
Andre Mills- Big time scorer in HS and athleticism to go with it. Likes to play defense. He's a competitor. Hoping he has gotten stronger and can make an impact. Need him to be good and need him to be good next season.
George Turkson- I think he has something. Not saying star quality, but he has good size and athleticism for a wing. Transitioning from a guy that played a lot of interior in HS to the wing.
Janusz Ratowski- great size and moves well for his size. Has a beautiful shot. I don't know if he can make any of his shots, but damn it's pretty.
Aaron Glass- averaged 26 ppg this year in HS. I honestly have seen clips, but haven't seen enough of him to have a clue.
Jasir Rencher- he looks like the real deal. Wing with good size and great athleticism. Hit 8 threes in one game this year. But again, I don't know how long it takes him before he contributes at this level.
Jeremiah Green- good offers. Had an offer from Auburn and visited Auburn. Tech, Maryland, Maryland, Texas, KSU, OU offered. Looks to be a fearless guard. You just never know how kids are going to translate to the college game and how quickly. I think he could be really good, but it might take a year or two.
Portal-
You have to find 2 guards that can score in the portal. Tons of small schools have some really talented guards and we need to grab a couple.
Need at least one big and probably two (fine if one is a 3/4). Buzz made a comment about a couple of months ago about how you need a lot of bigs to compete in this league.
