Is there some sort of lost pride in offering every single coach we want enough money that they give all their coaches a raise until someone bites? Starting at the top then all the way down? I remember they made fun of Tenn for that in football a while ago and they were top ten. Nobody cares after the moment. Can we stomach being let down so many times publicly that we'd try this?

Yeah who cares what anyone else thinks, you make your wish list, and you go down it. Ideally not every rejection is public but who cares if it is.

Look pathetic groveling for coaches. Beard made sense as Beard actually started the dialog with A&M. Clearly Beard was only trying to force Ole Miss's hand. A&M should have a clear list of options and that shouldn't just be going off the hot shot names in the game. There is no plan here that much is clear. Would Beard have even been in play if not for Beard reaching out?
How does anyone know this is not happening? Very well could be and we are only hearing from those that want to make it public.

Transfer portal puts a wrinkle in spending too much time offering not likely candidates so there has to be a balance to not let this drag out 2 weeks.
Nah. The coach is the first and only priority right now. Nobody wanted to hear this with baseball last year (or football two years ago) but you can't worry about players when you're trying to find the right coach. If it takes two weeks it takes two weeks.tamu05ag said:

Would it be nice if we could walk in the door throw a briefcase of money on the table and walk out with whoever we want? Yeah, but that's not who we are in basketball.
We're a third tier historical program that's trying to find the right guy to help us become more than that. There's no reason to pretend we're North Carolina.
