football will be a nice diversion
That's because baseball and basketball have been consistently better than football, relative to funding.AggieNattie said:
I don't blame you. Football has taken a backseat for me for a while because of the constant underachieving. It's fun following a program that actually is consistent year in and year out with less. And now we just got a young coach that's hungry to win at a big school like A&M.
A&M sports have been more fun for me personally in the spring time (basketball and baseball).

I love the football offseason. Recruiting, spring practice, fall camp, all of that. I just eat it up. Almost without fail for my entire life, I make it about 1 month through football season before just giving up and moving on to my real passion which is basketball.
for me my annual schedule of attention is:
March-September- Football season
October-November- Hunting season
November-March- Basketball season no matter how good or bad we are.

Aldo people are more passionate about football so the letdowns hit them harder
I would love to win in football, but I'm not holding my breath there.
Hoops can be more fun because you can make deep tourney runs that ante lots of fun and losses in the regular season aren't devastating to your season like they are in football.

Exactly. I think the college football format tends to make fans fatalistic lose a game and you lose most of your hope. Lose a second game and you are just waiting for next year. Not much has improved with a limited Tournament format. It makes for a very bipolar experience where medication doesn't help.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! What the hell are you doing!Quote:
I legit think people are sleeping on our football team this year. I think we're going to be really good.
Also, says every Texagger for the last 30-ish years (what you replied to).JJxvi said:SHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! What the hell are you doing!Quote:

Im usually a wait and see kind of guy but I cannot wait until October. I'm really really anxious and curious to see Bucky ball at A&M. Good gosh we've needed a high scoring team for so long now; we've been a grind it out team since BCG so I do not know what to expect.bobinator said:

That said I'm always more excited for hoops, but especially this year. Some high major school was going to roll the dice on Bucky and see if his style could work at this level but I never imagined it would be us, it's just so out of character.
I can't wait to see the reaction in Reed for our first few games next year. It's going to be so jarring. They need to bring some extra medical staff for the fans.
You could kind of see it against tu, but not nearly as good as I remember against Alabama in the previous year.bobinator said:
Last season was just an extremely weird year in Reed Arena. It's hard to capture exactly why, a lot of different factors were involved, but it just kind of felt like the vibe was off most of the year.
We objectively had one of our best years ever, but I don't think any home game except Auburn really had the same kind of juice as when the team and the fan base really seem hooked up.

Unfortunately, A&M is the most underachieving college football program in the country, IMO. You should be excited about men's basketball! I am.
