chris walker is one of my all time favorite players. was there ever a loose ball that guy wasn't diving on the floor for? and as he progressed he could make an open 3. hell the guy played a major role. chris walker and andy garcia will always be two of my favorite players.

I'm happy we have walkons. I never want to know one of their names or see them on the court unless we are up by forty. Buzz knew that to an extent even if J Lee was technically a walkon.

This is the gold standard of being a walkon. You HAVE to be able to throw good layup line passes and if you can't well you have no spot on the roster.

Probably the best chance for walk-ons to make the roster and earn a scholarship spot, in a long time. I think it's a peak into the future for many high schooler prospects... Big schools are simply going to offer mainly transfers and have tons of roster turnover & therefore will often need to fill multiple roster spots last minute.

At a school the size of A&M, you'll always have a handful of guys who could have gone and played DIII / NAIA ball but chose not to for whatever reason. Those are the perfect guys for times like these!

I highly doubt this is about fielding a roster, and more just generating interest, headlines for a first year coach.

Maybe.

As far as I know we have 10 or 11 on the roster? Definite possibility of signing more + plus invited walkons we may not know about yet..

But I would bet money at least somebody who shows up ends up earning a scholarship at some point here- and I'd say likely this year too..

Couldn't it also getting practice bodies since we'll be an up tempo/pressing team? To get all the scholarship guys the reps/conditioning they need, it seems wise to run them in waves against some practice guys to simulate more in game action. I don't know if I'd want to burn through our guys in practice going against each other, at least at first. 12 man roster going against each other doesn't leave a lot of room for subbing players in and out.
