Last year was a fun year, watching Wade and Boots do their thing.

Who are those guys on this team? Who are the real standouts bball-wise and personality-wise?

Boots?

You only need to watch us for like two minutes to fall in love with how Agee plays.

I also love watching how Lane and Hill play.

If you liked watching Wade you'll probably like Isaacs. Volatile player that likes to take risks. He seems to be finding his groove on this team too, thought he had a nice game today.

I was just gonna let that go and assume he meant like the last several years

Just messing with the OP.

Agree on Agee. Rylan Griffen is a great player with a calm demeanor and has a deep NCAA run under his belt while with Bama.

Ruben Dominguez is lethal and can go off at any second (2 back to back threes today in about a 11 second span of game time)

I'd have Griffen on my list of players I don't particularly like watching because he's kinda soft.

Dominguez is fun for sure because he's literally world class at one specific thing but it also kind of annoys me that he's not better at everything else. Seems like he's getting better though, he made some nice plays today outside of his shooting.

I liked Isaacs when he played for Tech but he drove everyone crazy with that very volatility you mention. In fact, when I comment that he's with A&M now, most of them say "good luck with ttah".

We have lots of guys who can score, unlike previous years where we mostly had boots & wade, if they weren't off that game.

1) Agee
2) Dominguez

Both are extremely fun players to watch for completely different reasons.

I enjoy watching good basketball but don't have the insight/expertise many of you have. With that said, like Goat Man, I've been drawn to Agee and Dominquez. Two questions, one on each player. What effect will Mgbako's injury have on Agee's play? It seems he's being forced to take on more of a center's role at times vs. that of his natural position of power forward. I'm not sure Vinson or Fed are up to the task. On the other hand, Agee was effective when Mgbako was out at the start of the season. With Dominquez, he obviously hit a lot of 3s against weaker competition but initially seemed to hit a wall against tougher teams. This made me wonder if he has the athleticism to get his shots in the SEC. Yesterday's game was encouraging. I know "wait and see" may be the best answer to each question. I'm just trying to generate discussion. Thanks for the insight.

Sorry for the second post. Ruminating a bit on the Agee question, I suppose the main issue may be that we don't have a natural center. Mgbako is also more of a forward. I guess his being out mainly removes one of the options for our post players. My concerns with Agee being forced to play center mainly occurred on the defensive end when he had to match up against LSU's Nwoko.

With this team I don't think it's as much who to watch as what to watch for . What to watch for is good ball movement which was spotty yesterday . I haven't tried to quantify the performance yesterday statistically but the eye test tells me the assists and assist to turnover ratio was among the worst of the season. Quality of opponent probably had something to do with it .

Agee is the one guy that if he was unavailable our team might come apart at the seams imo.

The bigger issue for Agee is how much he has to play. We can't play the kind of basketball we want to play if he's playing 30+ minutes every game.

Vinson and Federiko just have to figure out some kind of way to give us some minutes but man they're soft around the basket and don't have particularly high basketball IQs to make up for it.

Totally agree Vinson and Federiko need to get in the mix. Clemence too altho he's a bit different cat than them. Margins are so thin going forward that if you are getting blown out you maybe sit Agee and tell them get in there and show me . McDermott as well. I have kind of resigned myself to the fact that McDermott simply isn't athletic or skilled ( can't shoot well) enough to make a difference in SEC play but what's the harm in throwing him in there and saying show me what you can do if a game get's into unwinnable territory.

Everyone of the 11 players in the rotation. That's who to watch. Naismith would be proud of Buckyball. As the season continues, we will see this style of play is intentional and tactical to give them the best chance to win. The staff recognizes its weaknesses and compensates for them with the diverse skill set of this squad…all of them, and the coach is candid about what's good and what's not so good. We're used to the dawg mentality and looking to see who will be "the guy". While Agee has emerged as the most reliable player, there will be nights an unlikely player will shine. On the nights they pass and find the open player, trap and double-team, this team will neutralize bigger and maybe better opponents. It makes it difficult for other teams to game plan for the Aggies this season.
