This is going to sound dumb but I think Lane and Isaacs, especially Lane, are a little too cautious with the ball early in the possession. They don't want to make a mistake, so they're looking for someone wide open, but nobody is going to be wide open, trust your instincts to make the pass and get the ball up the court.
What ends up happening is they hold the ball too long which lets the defense trap them and now the pass is even harder to make and now you end up making a mistake because you were afraid to make a mistake.
Like a coverage sack in football. You gotta trust your teammates to make plays and trust your instincts to put it into the window. If you don't then the pass is going to get even more difficult because now you're going to be under pressure as well and that window is going to close.
But the other thing is that if you're going to hold the ball then go ahead and hold it. Don't panic and make a live ball turnover. A ten second call isn't the end of the world there by comparison.
