Finally putting my toe in the water of the new Aggie Men's Basketball Team.
I went back and watched the first 3 conference games (automatically recorded even when I did not have the interest or the time) before watching exciting Tennessee game: though extreme disappointment with the play of Pop Isaacs torward the end of the game - all the time realizing that his three-point shooting has been critical in winning and keeping us in other games.
Just crazy how we cannot rebound compared to last year's team. I miss that toughness - but also understand that this team IS tough in a completely different way.
All that being said, I think we have a NIT team this year with .500 conference record probably a high bar - unless we can shoot 40%-50% from outside the arc more games than not. Hard to consistently win while getting destroyed on the boards and giving other teams so many extra shots.
Of course, we could make up for that with significant difference in turnovers. We will see.
Just have to get used to this style after enjoying Buzz Williams and his teams the past half decade (and clearly in the minority based on reading this board).

I take it back. I think we can make the NCAA tournament in Bucky's first year. Though I wonder if other teams may eventually figure out how to play against our style.
I saw a tough team in maroon in Austin tonight.
Hard to believe we did not beat the sips there last year.
