Jmo, beating tu is great but there's a much, much bigger picture here . Beating teams with "better"
Players because of system and great coaching and pure grit is huge . Result is you get the players you need to take the step towards perennial and next level winning.

lol that may be me. I hate Texas but I also hate how it seems like most of our fans are hyper focused on Texas. You have people on here who would trade an 11-1 season for a 1-11 season if it meant we beat them. I think Trev is a good AD because he doesn't have the maroon colored glasses the rest of us have. I want coaches who care about results first not rivalries

Those people aren't real Aggies. Maybe they have a ring and a degree from A & M but they just don't pass the test imo. Beating tu is a byproduct of excellence but clearly not the measure of excellence

There's plenty of people who think things like making the dance, winning a conference title or conference tournament are more important than just beating tu. Even if that means resting players to better that cause instead of just trying to beat tu if it means nothing otherwise. Less of a deal in basketball than say other sports, but still relevant.

Fan 1 "We made the playoffs!"

Fan 2 "We lost to tu so the season is a failure".

Reality, season is a success and losing to tu is an unfortunate speed bump along the way that means very little.
