One simple statement would clean all of this up, at least for Basketball.

"The NCAA has certain rules regarding player eligibility for games. While conferences and judges might have different opinions on player eligibility, when it comes to the record used to seed basketball teams for the NCAA tournament, every game where a team plays a player that the NCAA deems to have been ineligible will be considered a forfeit by that team."

The end.

The NCAA is weak because they want to be weak.

Brilliant.

However, I could only see it working in championship tourneys the NCAA owns.

Wouldn't work in FB at all, but all other tourneys it could maybe withstand anti trust litigation.

Basketball could be unique since NIT exists. Also, NAIA.
