How long do you want to ignore this user?
Buckys introduction to Aggieland last year.

For all of those who question and worry about Bucky leaving please watch this video and then you get what this guy is made of AGS.

Some were unsure but I and others have been all in since day 1. If you think this guy is going to leave immediately you have not listened to what he is about.

If he's smart, and I think he is, he'll stay here for a long time and have a statue built and streets named after him

I dont think he would have come here if he didnt think he could win BIG.

He has had other offers from big schools, but he decided to come here. I hope he's here to stay (meaning he's as good as we all think and he loves it here as much as we do).

What big school offers did he have?

Let's keep things simple.

1. Go to the games
2. Support the hell out of this team

Bucky is going to win big here.

I never heard specifically, but that was floating when we hired him, that he was waiting for the right school. I think Mitch Cole confirmed for him to come here when other offers didn't seem to fit him.

Texas A & M is a big school. Not a blue blood basketball school nor a "basketball first" school but still a big school.

Maybe that was a piece of the calculation. Go somewhere that has reasonable resources and show the world it can be done… like Cignetti has done with football at Indiana.

And Bucky said that in an interview he did with some Samford guys last summer. He said his AD at Samford told him A&M had the resources so Bucky could be successful.

I'm talking about I never heard of any P4 conference school offering him or even on the list of potential hires. The poster above said he had offers. Being on the radar and having offers are 2 different things

Every coach you have might leave you. Mike Elko might leave one day. Jamie Morrison might leaving one day. Worrying about it isn't going to change anything, so just enjoy the ride.

I think college coaches are realizing their tenures can be pretty short if results don't come fast. As a result, I think the "Cignetti" approach is the way many will copy. If you are having success or stability at one place (e.g., Drew at Baylor; McCasland at TTU; Dixon at TCU etc), you stay there instead of jumping to the next, which in many cases means starting from scratch again and revamping expectations.

However, I do think that if Nate Oats ever leaves and Bama offers him the job, he will probably take it. He has mentioned multiple times that both his parents are Bama grads, and that he lived his whole life in Birmingham until he moved to A&M last year.

But as @marcag said, we have to enjoy it.

It won't be about money if he leaves, we can match whatever anyone else offers him. It would have to be a program like Duke or Kansas that comes calling if he is going to leave

Because easier to recruit to there or because their arenas are so much nicer?

This is a thread where the op is not only self righteous, but also begging for validation....

Not as rare as you may think, but impressive nonetheless

I second this! Go watch his intro presser!

What we're seeing now has been the plan all along. The hard work, giving more effort, being unselfish, being relentless.

How about something that kinda looks like the Campbell Center. The CC holds 7500 fixed seats so that would have to be increased and redesigned with suites like everybody complains we don't have but it could work if done right.
