Obviously the fast start, the discipline, the shot selection…etc.

But there was a 1 minute stretch in the second half where most teams would have folded mentally. We did not.

Georgia finally makes their run and with 9:05 left in the game, James gets the +1 to pull within 2 points.

If there is ever a time for a team to fold under pressure, on the road, this was it.

But not these Ags! Lane gets an open three, misses, but we get the second chance with an offensive rebound, and he sinks the second. 10 seconds into Georgia's possession, Cane misses a layup, and then Dibba hits a 3.

Georgia blinked and their deficit went -2 to -8…..from a one possession deficit to a three possession deficit.

That one minute of play summed up the "fearless" part of this team. Most teams would have folded under the pressure of the home team surging, pulling within 2, especially when you up by 20 at one point and feeling invincible.

Not this one.

Nice not having our boys have to dig themselves out of a 20 point deficit like the days of Buz.

Bob pointed it out in another thread, even when teams make a run on us we don't change our approach. There isn't a panic of we don't want this guy in the game or we only want this player shooting. We just keep running our style. I think that messes with the other teams mind more than anything else

I relate this back to what Morrison said during the title run, something along the lines of we wanna have fun so if we get down or other teammates a run we're going smile, laugh and enjoy the moment. He said many times that scares the other team even more and makes them press even more

I get the fearless part but feel our success relates more to having a bunch of veteran guys who have bought into Bucky's system. Maybe, that's the same as fearless? In addition to the "3Rs," it seems there's one or two others stepping up every game. Yesterday, it was Hill and Dibba making baskets at critical times. Just wish Fed and Jamie would occasionally join the party.

Yeah it struck me that Lane got it back and immediately tried another 3, never blinked.

I always said, it doesnt matter what style of hoops you play, if everyone believes in it and they all buy in, it can work.

Bucky always says stuff like, "if we get down, we're going to keep doing what we do with maximum effort and see how it goes by the final buzzer."

Basically telling the guys, he will be happy with the right play, win or lose. That takes a lot of pressure off.

Bucky is a killer. Watch his interview after the game on the bus ride to Birmingham or wherever they flew out of. The look in his eyes is ice-cold. That mentality has to rub off on the team, and I think you see it in those instances where it gets tight. The team doesn't flinch, doesn't panic, it just keeps going about business.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

I love how his poker mentality comes into this.

Don't get emotional….stick to the plan….play the odds (our game) without fear.

Seems to be a winning formula

I think this is why you've seen us win on the road a number of times already. Our guys don't get nearly as flustered when things have gone poorly or the crowd is crazy because we just play our game and stick to it. Our guys know no matter the situation that if they're taking the right shots, Bucky will support them regardless of it goes in or not, so they can play free and aggressive even in tough environments.
