1. Buc-ee's sponsor Reed Arena. Nickname "Buc-ee's Barn" or Buc-ee Area
2. New Spelling for Bucky Ball to Buc-ee Ball.(in theory)
3. Pay The man. Lock him up with great contract
4. Have a smaller mini version of a Roadside Buc-ee's attached to current "Reed Arena" that is always opened
on campus.

5. In turn, All Buc-cee's promote ATM Basketball in into advertising.

Not sure all five points would ultimately make it into a marketing campaign but agree a partnership with Buc-ee's makes sense. I guess one issue could be how long he stays here (sorry, no BAS intended). Suppose that might be an added incentive for him. Have to assume TAMU is engaged on this at an early level.

I dunno about OP's particulars but your'e spot on that we should take advantage of the opportunity before it evaporates. Should have been done long ago imo.

I don't mean partnering with Buc-ees… I mean a real strategic effort at marketing the basketball program

There is nothing in it for Buc-cees. More people visit a single Buc-ees location in a day than any Ag basketball game, a single Buc-ees gets more visitors in 2 weeks than all aggie basketball game attendances combined in a year - and there are approximately 60 Buc-ees locations.. A&M basketball is not a brand in and of itself and connecting a massively successful brand like Buc-ees to A&M men's basketball in no way moves any dial for Buc-ees. And then going one step further, you are not only connecting to A&M basketball but a specific head coach, one that could leave at any time no matter the contract. Seems like a risk for Buc-ees with no discernible benefit. A thousand billboards and word of mouth is all they seem to need. If their founder was just a huge fan of A&M basketball and the partnership was just as a fan, with no need for any business benefit, then perhaps it could happen.

Their CEO and founder is an Aggie who just made a huge donation for a student center on west campus. There is also a mini Buc ees on campus.

I was aware of the donation so I did note if he also just wants to partner with A&M Basketball as a pure fan, then it could happen. But there would be zero benefit to Buc-ees and I just don't see why the name connection would be a good idea. A pure donation to the program would be much better.

Seems like everyone splatters on the floor at the urinals but I gotta say they have somebody mopping almost continuously at the bathrooms near my section. Bet that mop water is clean.

Mr. Aplin doesn't appear to care to donate to sports, which is his prerogative. But he donates plenty though to A&M with his new Buc-ee's school which I think is a very good thing for the school

He's got a good thing going. I approached them one time with a product and it was super clear. Same TAMU merch as the sips. Can't blame him at all for that. Better for his business if he is just the Texas or SEC truck stop. But, the beef jerky is road kill ass. 7-11 has better dried meat.

Interesting thoughts. I disagree that Buc-ee's gets nothing out of it. Ask mattress Mac about advertising, if you ever heard him speak he was a genius when it came to advertising and I would say he did pretty well also....I also agree this would probably be more of a feel good play to support the Ags than an elite advertising decision.

Personally speaking, I would jump on the concept of doing an A&M-Buc-ee's Marketing agreement for those locations in the Southeast Conference that are outside the state of Texas. That would be Florida (2 locations), Georgia (2 locations), Tennessee (2 locations), Alabama (4 locations), Kentucky (2 locations), Missouri (1 location), and South Carolina (1 location).

Talk about 'recruiting,' or representing Texas A&M in the enemy's 'back-yard.'

I get the hate/dislike against Buc-ee's for those that live in Texas. But I have to say, it was a sense of pride (for me) when Buc-ee's opened 45 minutes from our home in Sevierville, Tennessee. The locals love it...and they are overwhelmed when you tell them, 'Yeah, it's a Texas thing...and there are 36 of them there.'

Everything IS bigger in the State of Texas...and Buc-ee's IS the C-Store showstopper...founded by an Aggie.

And Bucky is OUR guy. Glad to have him as our Men's BB head coach.

All in my opinion.
