No doubt the Kenpom's and Torvik's are much less human biased.

I prefer the not as funny route .

I do think if we beat Bama comfortably and then lose a real tight game to Florida we might still get ranked in the popularity poll tho

We're complaining about being #26 but Florida being #17 is a good example of the flawed logic.

Florida is #7 in KenPom, 6 in Torvik, 12 in the NET and just annihilated Alabama over the weekend.

Why? The totally mathematical systems like KenPom (#27) and Net ranking (#35) are lower.

We have some bad losses, especially OSU and while we have a couple solid wins in conference, we played a weak non conference schedule. I think we are fairly rated at 25/26.

we are first in the sec 8 games in and there are multiple other teams ranked in the conference and we are not one of them. i know out of conference matters but it shouldn't matter more than in conference play 40% into the season.

two of our four losses were in the first six games with 14 new players and new coach.

over the last ten games we have shown we are a top 20 team in my estimation. and our other two losses were on the road or neutral against tournament teams in overtime.

we are 17-4 overall. computers can quantify stats but that doesn't make them 100% correct. few teams have looked as dominants as we have over the last ten as we have entered the meat of our schedule. we have won multiple conference games by double digits

those are my reasons.

As a team and program in year 1 of a new coach…still lots of side-eyeing. Makes sense…

The final score on OSU is terrible, but fortunately that's still a Q1 win for now. UCF is a Q2, but they're trending toward dancing, so not the worst thing in the world.

I actually love the disrespect. Bucky uses it as motivation. The Ags are a good TEAM. A team that has worked their collective butt off to be in this position. It's been such a fun year across nearly every sport. Hoping for more championships this spring. Trev has made some great hires and the coaches have built their cultures similarly and they feed of each other. Anyone disappointed with this year has other issues.

Poll is laughable. I don't waste time trying to make sense of it.

I check our NET ranking daily. Polls don't matter in postseason seeding. Just like they don't mean anything in football, only the CFP rankings. Pollsters are simply being laughed at for not ranking us. Make em look even stupider this week.

The CFP committee too heavily considers polls because they lack a better approach because no one did one for them…

Just keep playing hard.

It is also worth saying that we have improved considerably, especially on defense. Looking at Torvik:

On December 31, 2025 we were ranked #44 in the country (48 offense, 77 defense). We were 9th in tempo.

Since January 1, 2026 we rank #13 in the country (27 offense, 17 defense) We are only 82nd in Tempo. Since the start of the calendar year (roughly 8 or 9 games out of 21 or 23 total generally), we would actually rank ahead of some teams like Kansas, Purdue, Connecticut, Vanderbilt, etc.

You deny that the writers have regional biases?

I don't deny I'm biased but I am not concerned about not being ranked by the AP pollsters at this point . As long as the team keeps performing like they have we'll be fine.

When is everyone gonna realize that rankings don't matter until March Madness, that the AP poll is reflective of who the writers know or want to write about, and that the Coaches poll is probably some coed filling it in for an SID
