Kind of an interesting part of the press conference (also a reason I love his press conferences because he isn't talking about leaving Holloway in because his spirit was good at team dinner the night before or whatever.)

We had a pretty wild lineup in at the end of the game and we had timeouts, but Bucky didn't want to use one because Ole Miss had a smaller lineup on the floor and he didn't want to give them a chance to sub.

He also explained why we didn't miss a free throw on purpose in this game when we did at Auburn. He thought if this game went to overtime we were definitely going to win it compared to Auburn where we had several players in foul trouble and we were on the road.

I love that Bucky explains his thinking on these situations and he is also very open about the path to making the tournament. You actually get legitimate answers from him and not coach speak.

Refreshing! Opposite of buzz in that respect. Buzz is the epitome of coach speak in press conferences.

I think I'd argue that actual coach speak would be better. I mostly stopped listening to Buzz's pressers because it wasn't even typical coach speak where you can kind of read between the lines of what he really wants to say.

He wouldn't say "Credit to Ole Miss, they played a great game" which is coach speak for "we played like butt, but we found a way to win"

He'd say something like "Coach Beard belongs in the hall of fame. He's one of the greatest coaches in the history of basketball and he guys play with an amount of heart and conviction that is just really rare...." or something

I actually LOLed because that describes what Buzz would say perfectly

As a fan, it's rare when the coach is able to illustrate reasonable expectations and remind you later…I told you it would be this way. It makes it all more relatable and generates genuine support. Make me feel like we're in it together. He tells you when it's good and owns it when it's not so good. If the season ends today it was a success, and there's more to come. Great hire!

I love Bucky's interviews. He loves to talk basketball and gives good perspectives on the game. No arrogance, no we just need to execute but real information. Just seems genuine. I can't imagine him being anything but a top flight recruiter…who wouldn't want to play for this guy?

No this is a common misconception, I was just transcribing what he carved into stone into the computer. As y'all know, one of Buzz's biggest ethos is the hardest way to do anything is the right way to do it, so he doesn't really believe in pens or paper. Definitely not ballpoint pens. Fountain pens were bad enough but that's where society really started to head downhill. Ballpoint pen was invented in 1938, WW2 started in 1939, coincidence?
