The refs killed A&M's chances in the first half with a technical and a flagrant. Houston was throwing elbows, grabbing guys, double dribbling and stepping on the line without a whistle.

March Madness is an appropriate title.

The tech and flagrant 1 were because of the calls or the lack of calls

Not saying we would have won with an evenly called game but it definitely hurt us a lot and seemed suspicious at minimum

To the OPs point, the flagrant foul call was Dominguez's reaction to being hard fouled immediately before that went unnoticed (and it was far from the first one). UH was getting away with a lot under the basket which resulted in their plethora of offensive rebounds early on. We weren't able to match their physicality, but the leniency shown UH was obvious (to me).

If the refs are going to allow it you almost have to do it or you won't be able to compete. The Cougars are really good at bodying you up but not reaching which makes it more difficult for the refs to blow their whistles. . Bucky saw what he needed to see tonight imo as he did in SEC play . I suspect we'll be bigger and stronger next season.

We got a few ticky tack fouls while pressing and they were letting anything go in the paint. Very inconsistent and a bit one

The one specific area in the game that bothered me was the refs continually not calling Houston pushing our guys in the back during their offensive rebounding. They did it all game and it should be one of the easiest calls to make. And I'm one to not complain about officiating bc I know how hard it is to do and typically a waste of time.

Men's basketball refs are like baseball umpires in that it seems to be more subjective (each home plate umpire has his own strike zone and each ref calls fouls differently) and both seem to crave attention. Contrast with wbb and softball officials, who at least seem more objective and are much less demonstrative/craving attention.

We'll get there but they were just better than our intramural team we competed for about as long as I thought we could. I loved this team and what the sec coach of the year did this season. Normally in a game like that you say empty the bench in essence that's what we've done all season. Incredible season to tie for 4th in the sec and win a tourney game.

On the Houston possession when they had about five offensive rebounds in a row, a replay showed UH grabbing one of our guys from behind and literally tossing him down. No call.

Houston has a much better team than we have, but there is no excuse for what UH got away with.
