It's no secret we didn't have impactful size this year. Unfortunately, many teams are figuring out they are too small in the tourney. It's gonna be a crazy portal but is there any way Clemence and Vinson can hit the weight room hard and be better at it?

I like Clemence hustle, but damn he just seems like a foul machine.

Both he and Vinson though….i kinda start to question what's going on between their ears.
Kinda like Fedi, long frames, but not too bright.
I also question whether Vinson a little lazy.

Those are just outside observations, hope I'm wrong and they develop into monsters.

They can both get bigger/stronger and should, Vinson especially since he's younger and longer.

But I don't think that's the only thing holding them back from being more forceful interior presences. Neither one exhibit good fundamentals or discipline.

They need to be our third and fourth bigs, not second and third. Clemence's best use is as a versatile piece on both ends.

That's fine but Illinois bigs seemed to be able to rebound and shoot 3s. I imagine a lot of improvement can take place.

He can be expected to do it. We should bring people in but he's 6'10". He can get some boards while he's in there.

Clemence developed a lot this year. Hopefully a year in the weight room pays off. His inside out game makes him very valuable. But hr doesn't need to play over 20 minutes a game.

He can improve that too, imo but he has been coached by two good coaches and it still happens.

I think clemence will get better provided he does the work in the weight room. He gets stronger he won't be pushed off the block and won't foul as much trying to get back into position or contest.

The rest of the bigs should be encouraged to find a spot elsewhere.


And yeah. We going to need to spend the NIL war chest on portal bigs.

It's Clemence's feet. It's the same reason he struggles to get his shot off when being defended on the perimeter. I expect Bucky and the staff to work on the offense to get him more shots consistently and in his comfort zone. He also went through a really tough stretch of shooting.

Let's all remember every player Bucky signed was passed over by other major programs

They have flaws Bucky made them better and if these players are good "value" in Bucky's opinion they will be back.

Building a team is no longer a recruiting exercise it is a shopping exercise with a budget, limited inventory and other interested shoppers.

I think a fair number of Clemence'fouls occur when he gets pushed off inside and tries to recover after falling back . Improved lower body strength would help with that plus also help him become more aggressive at the rim on Offense . He missed more than a few layups .

I like his chances to start and be much improved next yr

I dunno what to make of Vinson. He shows flashes but he's so inconsistent.

We need several incoming strong bigs for sure . It used to be strong guard play dominated the tourney but this yr it seems to me that mobile bigs that can attack the rim and rebound have been the difference maker.
