Flying Saucer in downtown Columbia is great place to get a few beers, and the area surrounding has plenty of bars.

I live nearby at Shaw AFB and I haven't met an unfriendly USC fan yet. I see a lot of Gig'ems on the road with an A&M license plate.

Campus, Five points, vista, and you're done.

go to restaurants on the vista like Motor Supply Bistro and Blue Marlin. California Dreamin is my favorite place to eat there and is usually rated a top 5 restaurant in Columbia. I always stayed at the hilton, so I ate at Ruth's Chris on a semi regular basis. Five Points doesn't really have a lot going on in the food department, though.

For drinks, the flying saucer or Five points area is great for that. Five points = northgate
