Are you staying in/near Oxford, and if so how difficult is it to find a decent hotel with vacancy? Thinking of staying in Memphis for the weekend and driving to Oxford on gameday (1-1/2 hour drive).

Seriously, you're not going to find a hotel in Oxford. Mempho is an option but stay in Southaven area if you do...unless you plan to stay downtown. Typically all visiting teams stay in Tupelo on Friday night and go to movie. Alot of fans stay here too. Not sure if
A&M will though. Another option if you're into gambling is Tunica. It's about an hr west of Oxford.

Its a very easy venue to get tickets at. Its also a very easy venue to take over with your fans.

I was going to stay in Batesville, which is about 20 minutes outside Oxford...

The Mrs. and I are thinking about flying into Memphis, staying at the Tunica casinos, and making the 80 mile game day drive to Oxford.

Bars and stadium are on totally opposite sides of town! Might want to check into your rental there again.

Rented a house outside of Oxford. Some Ole Miss fan posted a few days ago that they were cancelling a reservation at the Hampton Inn in Oxford, but the rate was $350/night with a 2 night minimum--if you've got the right number of people in your party, you can rent a nice house for less than that.

Actually got a hotel room in Oxford, booked it 5 minutes after the SEC schedule came out.

The misses and going up on Thursday, 3 nights comped at Harrahs in Tunica. Going to Memphis on Friday, BB Kings here I come. Then heading to the Grove on Saturday with another couple from our tailgate group. Gig Em!

Me +1, staying in Jackson. Longer drive on game day, but saved enough on hotel to cover Southwest Air to Jackson.
