Today on Drive Time Sports out of Little Rock someone floated the rumor that Charlie Strong of Louisville had been contacted about assuming the Arkansas job.

Anybody got word on this?

The only positive that I see Arky getting from their embarrassing loss to ULM is that they get to start their coaching search the following day way ahead of every other program. Charlie Strong should be at or near the top of their list. I thought he should've been given the Texas A&M job.

Strong may have been seriously considered, but Louisville, did not give A&M permission to interview him.

I know there are ways around that, but maybe we wanted to be respectful...or we could have already had our guy in Sumlin.

That has been discussed in some circles. It isn't like we are opposed to scumbags for coaches.

If he's serious about the job, he needs to be a polished scumbag like Calipari or Pitino. If he will ditch the bike, get an Armani suite and snag some high maintenance strange at the track, he should be well positioned for the job.

ftworth- I do think patterson would be an excellent coach at any university, but if he's said no to notre dame, he's going to say no to arkansas

Although, I do remember the Fort Worth paper claiming that TCU said no the SEC.

Scumbag Patterson wouldn't work at most schools where players are expected to be suspended for drug use, dealing, etc. obviously TCU just cares about the wins.

last year Strong signed 4 star players out of Florida to come to Louisville. That takes skill.

Ha, some TCU family members were giving me hell about Sumlin and our suspensions staying with the La Tech game, and I just asked them why half of their team was participating in their season opener.
