I have been trying to listen to Paul Finebaum, when I can live, and otherwise catch his podcasts of guest interviews. I always skipped Greg McElroy's interviews because I assumed it was all slobbering over Bama. I checked it out from Tuesday and got bent.
Paul asked him if the 3rd spot was in between Ole Miss and MSU now that Auburn and Arkansas had fallen off and he said yes. His thoughts on Texas A&M was the quote in my subject line. So is that fair? He -and most- probably know we lost to Florida but didn't see the game and saw we killed a sinking Arkansas team by forty-eight, both games at home. Most likely they have no idea about the other two games. Is it that easy to come to this conclusion with the amount of attention given from SEC fans to our progress? Even with the way we have gotten to 3-1?
Which week will we know for sure what kinda season we will have? As well as the rest of the SEC west? I think LSU/UF, UA/Auburn, and Texas A&M/Miss will shed a lot of light on the rest of the season in the West. And UK/Miss St. also if the Bulldogs get beat and/or have a bad game.

Oct 20 - Nov 10th

Until we start playing the games in that stretch, pundits will continue to question how good A&M is/isn't. Honestly don't blame them as it is a fair question. After years of underperforming, it's difficult to argue our guys will meet or exceed expectations.

I think he is right- the jury is still out. We have played one decent team so far; let's see how we do in the upcoming quartet of LSU, MSU, Auburn and Bama- and if we can finally beat MU at home.

Beating Ole Miss during prime time on a ESPN network will help our image. Most know this is not the same Ole Miss team. They would be a competitor in most conferences.

Lets not forget our game against LA Tech.

If you extend AP rankings, they're #32 (37 votes) & we're #28 (51 votes). LA Tech will destroy UNLV this week & be 5-0 as we roll into Shreveport. ESPN has mentioned them as a BCS buster if they get past us, they will likely be 12-0. I think we win the LA Tech game by 20. It is on ESPN network at 8:15p. This game helps our SOS & is another solid win. The recognition will come...

I like the replies there folks. So for some West teams we know what they are working with? Ole Miss, Arkansas, Auburn, and Alabama its clear what they are I assume. MSU, LSU, and Texas A&M have looked good and shown some promise but haven't played enough high caliber opponents. After playing Florida you think we'll know for sure where LSU's path is headed? If Texas A&M and MSU both win formidably Saturday I'm sure the non-regional folks will still have their doubts. Although if they lose then they will be quick to dismiss a loser Saturday as a non-contender.
I'd like to hear an unbiased media source that is following Texas A&M closely. I love what this website does and other sources but, its nice to get that 100,000 foot view, from the outside.

Beat Mississippi and you knock out their shot at 3rd.

I didn't realize La Tech was averaging close to 50 points per game. That's a surprise to me, should be a shoot out next weekend

50 pts per game versus nobody......and their defense is giving up well over 500/game and is ranked 118 out of 120. Worse than Arkansas.

Our secondary is still raw and we will have a couple of guys outout. This will be a tough test / track meet. Last one to score may win.
