I know 11am slots suck, but get over it, Aggies. The rumors that this is to protect the tu timeslot or that it's some personal vendetta are ridiculous.

We've played very roughly twice in a row against schools we should have wasted; that kind of result gets you a lower priority time slot. ESPN is going to do what makes it the most money; money possibly lost by undermining the ratings of the tu game is nothing compared to money lost by creating a bad schedule for their own major channel. They gave us the 11am slot because that is what made the most sense to them.

So many Aggies are forgetting this game is not just TAMU but also against LSU, the number 6 school in the ESPN recognized BCS rankings. To all of the people *****ing about the game time: Do you really think ESPN would purposefully sabotage their own schedule in order to either spite TAMU or promote Longhorn Network, at the cost of a number 6 school's slot?

Get over it and enjoy having so many games televised this season, on major channels. Act like you've been here before.

Pretty clearly talking about LHN as the small investment, as I was contrasting it to the SEC game we're playing in...

The LHN is 300 million dollars out of a 7 billion dollar company, and even then this is the tv schedule of a single game we're talking about. How much is this one game worth to the LHN, which it isn't even being broadcast on? It's nothing compared to screwing up their own schedule. It doesn't make any sense, at all.

FWIW, I think ESPN took viewership numbers into account, but the 11am time slot is not necessarily considered the worst time from a TV viewing perspective. What they wanted to do likely was keep our premier ranked team in conference matchup isolated at a time that it would split less with other viewership.

The Clay Travis conspiracy wasn't about protecting the LHN. It was about the mothership (ABC) protecting its ratings from its own litle brother subsidiary (ESPN). The ESPN ratings for 6:00 game in the Texas market would've destroyed the ABC ratings for a 6:00 in the same market.

I don't know that I buy in to the assertion, but at least understand the facts.

That said, one of the loudest games I ever attended at Kyle was the 98 Nebraska game...a day game. The crowd will be pumped regardless of kick time. It's going to be epic.
