I thought it was a bad decision to abandon the running game with real RB's, and putting the ball in the air almost 60 times with a true freshman QB against LSU's secondary was asking for trouble. Other than that, he had the right idea to expose LSU's young secondary. I noticed that he forced LSU to go to dime on approximately 70% of their defensive alignments. That meant he caused LSU to match up against TAMU receivers with 3 freshmen CB's throughout most of the game. That could explain so many coverage lapses early in the game. It took awhile for the young guys to get settled in. His offense can potentially give good SEC defenses fits if he tries to run it with more balance instead of throwing it on so many plays. A big RB in the backfield can punish teams that go dime too often and keep defenses more honest with respect to your passing game. That would go against the air raid concept but that does not mean to stop attacking defenses through the air. Bobby Petrino had the right idea on how to have his QB's sling the ball while at the same time putting a balanced offense on the field to keep defenses guessing. Too bad he can never field a defense and cannot get his personal life in order.
