Do the Corn Dogs lose count...uh, 20, uh, uh, shoot, what comes next, pappy?

No, really, why is it that way? Any LSUers want to clue us in?

I'm pretty sure all football fields are like that?

Unless you're talking about the numbers. In that case, that is pretty screwy.

It's a tradition from the 1960's.

Most cajuns cannot count by 10s. A lot of them have lost fingers to gators and their teeth ain't that plentiful either.

It's the same with their goalposts. Their engineering deparemt has yet to invent a goal post that can be held up by only one pole.

Cajuns only like having to take one shoe & sock off at a time to count.

you boys have some pretty shallow "traditions" if paint on your field and numbering is included!

I've always loved it. Don't want it at Kyle, but not because it isn't cool.

One of the few fields that I can see just a portion of the playing surface, no players, and no instantly what stadium it is.

One point of clarification. Not all LSU fans are "Cajuns." There are at least two other distinct species of Louisiana critter, rednecks and "yats."

The first is self-explanatory, the other comes from the port city of New Orleans, you know "Noo-Awlins." They're mostly the descendants of Irish, Italian, and German immigrants who didn't stray far from the ships that deposited them in the New World. Their accent resembles the speech pattern of that same stock of people who settled the New York metropolitan area. There is even a small pocket of "yats" in Mobile. Have a conversation with our basketball coach, Billy Kennedy, one of these days. He will never be confused with somebody whose ancestors spoke French.

As best as I can determine, the moniker came from he popular New Orleans inquiry: "Where y'at?"
